Meet Anna
Avonlea Rest Home Manager, and Avonlea Villas Manager
"My name is Anna Looby. I am proudly Taumarunui born and bred, a country girl at heart. I have been Avonlea's Manager since 2007. We pride ourselves on offering quality, individualised holistic care to our residents with well qualified, compassionate staff.
I started my nursing career at Taumarunui Hospital where I nursed in all areas of our thriving rural community. I gained a diverse range of skills as a rural nurse working in front-line emergency, medical, surgical, theatre and maternity disciplines. Since then, I've tutored in the medical profession, been involved in mental health promotion and practice nursing until I took on the management role at Avonlea where I have been ever since. The place, peace and especially the people, are why I love it here."
